Thug mé cuairt ar Ros Dumhach aréir le súil labhairt le Micí Joe Ó Conghaile agus lena bhean aoibhe atá leathchéad bliain pósta le seachtain anois chuaigh muid bog agus crua ar íomhá le go labhródh sí linn ar an téip agus cé gur cainteoir breá í a bhfuil neart le rá aici go deimhin deireann sí nach dtaitníonn a glór féin léi agus ní dhearna muid aon mhaith ach lena cheart a thabhairt dó ní raibh aon leisce ar Mhicí Joe cuntas a thabhairt ar gach ar tharla thosaigh sé leis an dáta ar phós siad.

I visited Ros Dumhach last night hoping to speak with Micí Joe Ó Conghaile and his cheerful wife who have been married for fifty years as of last week. We went gently and firmly about getting her to speak to us on tape, and although she is a fine speaker with plenty to say, indeed, she says she does not like her own voice, and we did no good except to give her her due. Micí Joe, for his part, had no hesitation in giving an account of everything that happened; he started with the date they got married.
